This course, led by Dr Sheila Heymans with the help of Dr Karen Alexander, will give you a comprehensive introduction to Ecopath, Ecosim and Ecospace. For more information visit the course webpage.
The "First International Workshop on Trophic Modeling for the Ecosystem-based approach to Fisheries in the Province of Buenos Aires" (MODELCOBA) was held from 11th-15th of March 2013 at the National Institute of Fisheries Research and Development (INIDEP), in Mar del Plata (Argentina). EwE modelling was highly used during the workshop.

The EwE programming course, scheduled from 22 to 26 April, 2013 is full! We are at max capacity. However, if you are interested in attending a similar course please do not hesitate to contact us.
The sources repository is back online, and all you programmers out there can once again code our hearts out. Ok, perhaps that's a trifle optimistic, but at least you can grab the latest and the greatest of the EwE source code.
On 18 December 2012 a power problem at UBC brought down the Ecopath sources repository computer. The machine has been refusing to restart since. This means that neither you nor the EwE development team will be able to get the latest version of the EwE source code. UBC technical support people are looking into getting the machine back online. Hopefully this is resolved soon; we'll be sure to post updates.
Some issues with EwE managed to slip through the Beta cracks, and we've issued another EwE6 release to address these issues:

EwE 6.3 has been released. This is the first version of EwE developed under the Ecopath Research and Development Consortium, and is entirely funded via co-development and user support.
This release focuses primarily on features in Ecospace, a simplified work flow and bug fixes. Changes include:
We are happy to announce that an Ecopath programming course will be held from April 22 to April 26, 2013 at UBC, Vancouver, Canada.
In this five-day workshop, users of the Ecopath with Ecosim ecosystem model version 6 (EwE6) will learn to use the EwE6 programming model as a starting point for developing custom models and modules to further their research, to connect to other modelling software, and to automate tasks working with EwE6.
This course assumes familiarity with Ecopath and Ecosim and basic computer programming experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio or Visual Basic Express is highly recommended. To enroll or to enquire for more information please visit the courses page.
The EwE 6.3 Beta has been successful, and we are in the process of wrapping up the last feedback. We are hoping to release on November 12 or soon after. Please stay posted.
